Crafting Theatre

Creating and performing is show is much more than merely stepping onto a stage, waving one's arms, and beginning to sing. With each show that I write, there are dozens of elements - from music, to script, to costumes - that need careful consideration and meticulous execution.

When I began to develop Ingenue: Deanna Durbin, Judy Garland and the Golden Age of Hollywood, I wrote these "crafting theatre" segments to give the audience (and aspiring theatre creators) an idea of how I conceptualize and then develop a new work. I went on to perform this show around the world, including an off-Broadway run at SoHo Playhouse in 2019.
